Culture in the Lloyd’s market

A destination of choice for global talent

We want Lloyd’s to be a destination of choice for global talent.

We know a braver future requires a broad spectrum of ideas, skills and perspectives, and a culture where everyone can take part and contribute. So we are transforming our culture by embedding inclusive practices that enable high performance.

We do that through our market oversight and engagement. Our culture principles set out our expectation that to operate in the market requires diversity and fostering inclusive and high performance cultures. We support the market to do that through our engagement and support for market-wide diversity and inclusion networks and communities including Inclusion@Lloyd’s, the global Dive In festival, sharing good practice, forums and upskilling.

Diversity & inclusion

Our aim is to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we work in and in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Market oversight

Through our oversight process we have set expectations of managing agents on culture, diversity and inclusion.

Diverse & Inclusive Champions exhibition

For the 2023 Dive In festival, Lloyd’s has created an exhibition of Diverse & Inclusive Champions. This features six people from the Lloyd’s market who are role models of inclusive practices over decades. The six people were chosen through recommendations and Lloyd’s commissioned the artist, Franklyn Rodgers to make portraits reflective of their individual journeys.

The portraits will be on display in the Old Library of the Lloyd’s building from 26 September 2023.
