This is an annual event organised by the UK LGBTQ+ charity, Schools OUT. It recognises the current struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community as well as events throughout history that have shaped society today, like the Stonewall Riots.
February marks LGBTQ+ History Month in the UK
At the end of last year our Executive Committee were given the opportunity to put themselves forward to sponsor one of our great communities here at Lloyd’s.
Burkhard Keese, Lloyd’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer wanted to be part of the Lloyd’s Together Pride and Allies Community.
“I wanted to be part of the Pride and Allies Community as the insurance industry has had the reputation for being a stronghold of tradition and privilege, often at the expense of women, minorities and members of the LGBTQ+ community.Burkhard Keese - Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Lloyd’s
I’m proud to say that Lloyd’s is not that place and we wholeheartedly foster inclusivity.
Insurance is a people business, and we must create an inclusive environment where everyone is comfortable to be themselves. The LGBTQ+ work has strategic importance and I hope that in my role as sponsor I can support, drive and promote LGBTQ+ inclusion and diversity“

Gender neutral toilets
One Lime Street is equipped with gender neutral toilets, which can be found on Lower Ground (behind Reception) and Galleries 6, 9 & 10.
