Mexico remains the largest Latin-American market for Lloyd’s and continues to grow in size and relevance. The Mexican marketplace remains dynamic and continues to evolve in terms of capacity; growing MGA community; and a stable regulatory landscape.

This presentation will provide:

An overview of Lloyd’s Mexico numbers.
A summary of the Lloyd’s marketplace’s footprint in Mexico.
An overview of potential business opportunities.

In addition, Yelhis Hernandez, Mexico Country Manager and Central America Market Development Manager at Lloyd’s hosts Gerardo Rebollar, President at Hylant Mexico, who will provide the Lloyd's market with an in-depth presentation on their portfolio and reinsurance needs for 2024 placements.

Hylant Mexico is expanding their retail brokerage and consultant capabilities into the reinsurance world for their large client base. Understanding their portfolio is essential for Lloyd's underwriters to provide the best possible risk transfer solutions.

Gerardo Rebollar

Gerardo is a graduate in Insurance Sciences from the Pontifical University of Salamanca (Spain) and a Corporate Finance Diploma holder from ITAM (Mexico). He embarked on his professional journey in 1999 as a reinsurance broker in Madrid. With a rich background spanning the insurance industry across Spain, Germany, the UK, Mexico, and Latin America, he has held key roles such as global risk manager for a major company, reinsurance strategy lead for a Mexican insurer, and international director for a major Mexican broker.

He has extensive experience of over 20 years in the market. He worked as a reinsurance broker in London for 5 years and Spain for over 3 years, and held various positions in risk management and alternative risk transfer solutions. Gerardo has excelled in brokering catastrophic reinsurance contracts for the Latin American market, directing facultative risk placements, overseeing regulatory matters, and leading commercial initiatives for strategic clients from Mexico and South America.

Following a partnership with the Hylant family, Gerardo established Hylant Group Mexico, a conglomerate specializing in risk management and insurance. Comprising a traditional insurance broker, a consulting firm, a digital broker, and soon a reinsurance broker.
