The Corporation of Lloyd’s (“Lloyd’s”) is an entity that oversees an insurance market of independent insurers known as the Lloyd’s market. Lloyd’s itself is not an insurer or a carrier and the insurers that operate in the Lloyd’s market are all separate, distinct entities.
Background to Lloyd’s
Lloyd’s does not process claims, and neither does it hold any policy information.
Insurance business is underwritten “AT” Lloyd’s, not “BY” Lloyd’s or “WITH” Lloyd’s – an important distinction. Lloyd’s provides both the building in which, and the platform on which, insurance business is traded between brokers and insurers but Lloyd’s itself is not a party to any such contracts of insurance. Lloyd’s holds no policyholder information, does not undertake policy administration and cannot provide copies of policies, endorsements, declaration pages, loss runs, claims histories or any other information relating to purported individual insureds.
There is no central database of policies placed in the market by independent insurers who keep their own commercially-sensitive records. Lloyd’s has no access to those individual records and, as such, Lloyd’s is unable to identify which agent was used, or verify any purported coverage by reference to a policy number or a named insured.

The contact that you most likely need is the claims notification agent. If you are a policyholder, the details of the claims notification agent should be set out in your insurance policy. If you are unable to locate the details of the claims notification agent, you should contact the broker or agent that sold you the insurance coverage.
If you are not the policyholder, you will need to obtain the details of the claims notification agent from the insured.
Lloyd’s will have no knowledge of your claim.
As noted above, Lloyd’s is a marketplace of independent insurers.

If you do not already have a claims notice point of contact, we would advise you to approach the broker or agent that you (if you are the policyholder) or the insured (if you are not the policyholder) used to purchase coverage, as only that agent will be able to identify the relevant insurer(s) to assist with your enquiries.
