We know the ability to negotiate complex risks face-to-face between Lloyd’s expert underwriters and brokers is, and will continue to be, an important element of our global and growing market. We want to understand your needs and preferences – and build an exciting, bold, and innovative future experience that future proofs the market, supports growth, provides flexibility, attracts new talent, and enables all participants to trade and collaborate efficiently and effectively. 

Market-wide consultation – from February 2021

From February 2021, we will undertake a market-wide consultation to gather insights and ideas from a diverse range of market participants about the future requirements for the shared spaces and services within the Lloyd’s building, as well as how these interact with different digital solutions, such as our new virtual underwriting room. 

How can I get involved? 

We are keen to get as many perspectives as possible to help inform our thinking – and are providing lots of opportunities to contribute so everyone can get involved. 

Over the coming weeks, we will be: 

• Engaging senior leaders from market firms 
• Holding virtual focus groups – these commence 8 February and are open to all. A range of times and sessions, tailored to different market participants, are available throughout February – please register now.
• Launching an online collaboration hub to crowdsource ideas at-scale – anyone in the market will be able to register and participate in polling and discussion forums to gather initial insights, and provide feedback on early vision concepts 
• Hosting virtual events and providing regular updates to the market on progress 

The ability for our vibrant marketplace to come together, share risk and develop solutions has ensured Lloyd’s has always been at the forefront of innovation. We are excited to embark on this journey together – whether physical or virtual, our goal is to ensure Lloyd’s continues to be the place to meet, convene, and transfer risk.
