Election to the Council of Lloyd's
By a Notice dated 3 November 2014 members were informed of the vacancies arising. At the close of Nominations, at 13.00 on Wednesday 19 November 2014, valid nomination papers had been received as follows.
Working members – two candidates for two vacancies
Mr Simon Charles Waldegrave Beale
Ms Karen Ann Green
As the number of working member candidates equals the number of vacancies, a ballot will not be necessary. Mr Beale and Ms Green have therefore each been elected.
C-External member – one candidate for one vacancy
Hiscox Dedicated Corporate Member Limited (represented by Mr Robert Simon Childs)
As the number of C-external candidates equals the number of vacancies, a ballot will not be necessary. Hiscox Dedicated Corporate Member Limited (represented by Mr Childs) has been elected.
Individual External member – one candidate for one vacancy
The Michael Deeny LLP (represented by Mr Michael Eunan McLarnon Deeny)
As the number of individual external candidates equals the number of vacancies, a ballot will not be necessary. The Michael Deeny LLP (represented by Mr Deeny) has been elected.
All new appointments to Council are subject to the formal approval of the PRA and the FCA. All terms of office will commence on 1 February 2015, and the terms of office shall be for three years save that due to the application of the nine year limit under the Constitutional Arrangements Byelaw (No.2 of 2010), the term of office of Mr Deeny as the representative of The Michael Deeny LLP shall be for a period of one year and nine months.
