Lloyd's and London Market Introductory Test (LLMIT)

Lloyd’s took the decision to discontinue the Lloyd’s and London Market Introductory Test (LLMIT) in 2015

LLMIT study material is no longer available to purchase, neither is the exam available to be taken.

Any students wishing to study about the London market, we are recommending they study via the CII programmes, Award in London Market insurance (ALMI). For LM1 and LM2 information please click on the link below:

Pass query

The most common query that we received is with regard to a pass query or replacement certificate.  We can provide evidence that you passed, if you need the date and proof for your CV.

For  ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ for the CII, to gain credits for the LIT (Lloyd’s Introductory Test) or LLMIT exam, we can provide evidence to say you have passed which you can then send to the CII.

If you solely require evidence of an exam pass, please email LLMIT@lloyds.com with your details, exam pass information, and month/year when you believe you passed the exam.

We can help in the following scenarios:

  • If you passed between 1986 – 2004
  • If you passed between 2010 - 2015

If your exam/pass was between 2004-2009, the exam was administered by the CII during this period, so please call their student helpline on +44 (0)20 8989 8464 or email them customer.serv@cii.co.uk

For more information on recognition of prior learning please click here: http://www.cii.co.uk/about/accreditation-services/accreditation-schemes-for-individuals/recognition-of-prior-learning/

Replacement certificate

If you require a certificate, you can request a replacement at a cost of around £50. Replacement certificates are only available if you passed between 2010 and 2015, when the exam was administered by Pearson VUE, and recognised by EdExcel.

Please see below pdf document on LLMIT certificates for instructions on how to apply for a replacement certificate.

If you have a query, please see the FAQ document. If you cannot find an answer, please direct all queries about the LLMIT test to Lloyd's LLMIT inbox

Kind regards
