Lloyd's is aware that its name may be misused to perpetrate fraud. If you have received an email communication purporting to be from Lloyd's and you are concerned over its legitimacy, please contact us.

One technique (known as phishing) is to issue emails to the general public and commercial entities claiming to originate from Lloyd's and which may also provide links to fictitious financial web sites . The purpose of these emails may be to extract personal information such as passwords, PINS and account numbers to fraudulently obtain money from recipients by the use of bogus schemes (eg investment programmes) purporting some form of association with Lloyd's.

Lloyd's does not issue unsolicited emails and is committed to reducing the fraudulent use of Lloyd's name wherever possible. However Lloyd's does not accept any responsibility or liability for losses arising from such communications.

If you have received an email communication purporting to be from Lloyd's and you are concerned over its legitimacy, please contact enquiries@lloyds.com with a subject of "Email Abuse" and include details of its contents, providing a copy where possible. We recommend that you do not click on any web links contained within these emails as they may expose your computer to viruses or spyware and that once you have reported the matter, you delete them. You may also wish to contact the internet service provider from where the email has been delivered to report "Email Abuse" and request that any messages from the relevant account are blocked.
