Consumer Alert regarding Mr Greg. Stewart of Space Coast Insurance Group

Consumers should note the distinction between “Space Coast Insurance Group" based in Rockledge, Florida and "Space Coast Insurance Agency, LLC" based in Melbourne, Florida. These are separate entities. Lloyd’s has received verification of coverage enquiries erroneously naming Mr. Stewart in connection with Space Coast Insurance Agency, LLC. As far as Lloyd’s is aware, there is no such affiliation; Lloyd’s understands that Mr. Stewart is affiliated with Space Coast Insurance Group and not Space Coast Insurance Agency, LLC.

Lloyd’s has been made aware that the Division of Insurance Fraud at the Florida Department of Financial Services has undertaken an investigation with respect to Mr. Stewart and Space Coast Insurance Group, and has concluded that they may have been involved in the issuance of fraudulent policies in the State of Florida.

Consumers should be warned that Space Coast Insurance Group does not hold and has never held any authority from Lloyd’s which permits it to bind or accept insurance or issue documentation on behalf of underwriters at Lloyd’s.

As a result of the above consumers should be aware that it may be unsafe to conduct business with Mr. Stewart and/or Space Coast Insurance Group, or rely on documentation which represents that cover has been placed at Lloyd’s. Consumers may need to consider taking all necessary action to obtain replacement coverage, if required, as soon as possible.
