Welcome to Lloyd’s in the Middle East and Turkey

Our story

Lloyd’s has been supporting the Middle East insurance industry for nearly six decades.

Expert underwriters at Lloyd’s, provide their Middle East and Turkey customers with innovative insurance solutions backed by financial security and strong international ratings that Lloyd’s has always been known for. By offering solutions to protect public and private assets, and by sharing our risk intelligence, Lloyd’s will continue to support the regional insurance market, build local resilience and help support a developing risk culture throughout the Middle East and Turkey. The depth of expertise and breadth of products sets the Lloyd’s market apart. Customers have access to the combined scale, expertise and capacity of an entire market, not just a single insurance company. As our world is reshaped by economic, environmental, geopolitical and technological shifts, the breadth, depth and responsiveness of the Lloyd’s market gives Middle East and Turkey businesses the confidence to move forward in the face of uncertainty.

“Lloyd’s Dubai is the focus of our growing business in the fast-growing Middle East region. Home to our growing community of Syndicates and Coverholders, we write business across the region and, increasingly, a wider geographic footprint. Our underwriting community is characterised by its depth of experience in, and knowledge of, the regional markets. Our underwriters are empowered to work with our distribution partners to develop solutions for risks of all sizes and complexity. The UAE’s attractiveness as a place to live, and that of the DIFC as a working environment, is resulting in some of the best global insurance talent looking to develop their careers here. Great talent, market knowledge and empowered underwriters mean that Lloyd’s Dubai is well placed to work in partnership with our distribution partners to grow our rapidly expanding market further.”

Our work in the community

Lloyd’s is committed to improving lives and building resilience in local communities. Through the Lloyd’s Together program, we support local communities with projects that focus on education and employability, environment and sustainability, social welfare and health and disaster preparedness and relief.

Lloyd’s has recently, in conjunction with the DIFC, launched a mentoring scheme providing the employees of four local insurance companies to be mentored by employees of the insurance community based in DIFC. We are working across the market to develop young talent and in particular to improve access for women to senior executive positions that have been taken almost exclusively by men. Lloyd’s Dubai have organised numerous volunteering charitable activities for the local insurance market which have included a tree planting programme, painting an animal shelter and a wadi cleaning project.

The Lloyd’s market champions diversity and is leading the field in encouraging open, inclusive cultures across our industry.
