Does Lloyd's provide support for ongoing education?
We support study towards continuing professional development. How can I prepare for my interview? What can I expect?
Plenty of research into Lloyd’s and a good understanding of the role is a pre-requisite for interview. Knowing your CV is a key part to any interview and having prepared examples on pieces of previous work should stand you in good stead for any competency-based interview. Examples of these would be project work, challenges faced, time management issues and managing stakeholders.
Your interview should last no longer than one hour (excluding testing). You can expect to meet the immediate line manager for this role who should be able to give you a deeper understanding of the role and what is expected of you on a day-to-day basis.
How will my performance be monitored?
Performance is generally monitored through two formal appraisals throughout the year. All employees are reviewed against specific criteria relevant to their employment. Specifically employees are measured against the two key areas:
1. How effectively you have delivered against your performance objectives.
2. How effectively you have demonstrated the Lloyd's values.
At the end of the year you will be given a performance rating against both your objectives and your values.
Lloyd's believes that every employee should be rewarded for performance success and does so by providing you with the opportunity to receive an annual bonus payment by way of recognition. As a result, Lloyd's may make a discretionary bonus payment based on performance during February each year.
I applied to Lloyd's a while ago. Can I reapply?
If you want to re-apply for a similar role, then we would normally suggest that you wait at least a year. This will have given you adequate time to develop new skills and experiences to support a successful application. If you feel that you are suitable for an unrelated role that we are advertising, then you are free to apply for this.
