Applications for the Lloyd’s Market Charity Awards are closing on 2 Oct 2022
The awards offer a unique opportunity to have a say on the charitable causes we support and to celebrate our colleagues who dedicate their time to their community.

I was delighted to learn that my application for a grant from the Lloyd’s Market Charitable Trust had been accepted.
The application process was quite straightforward and I enlisted the help of our Treasurer and Chairman in collating the information required.
I have been volunteering with SERV London and Surrey for the last 8 years and we provide an out-of-hours blood and blood product transport service for urgent out of hours deliveries to hospitals in London and Surrey.
We had been particularly busy during the pandemic as we were further tasked with transporting urgent samples for the various covid clinical trials operating in and around the capital.
We have used the grant to purchase our first electric motorcycle and have, with the help of Lloyd’s employees, named it Bolt.
Bolt has surpassed all expectations and is in service every night between the hours of 6PM and 6AM collecting and delivering urgent items whilst helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
“This grant has given us a huge boost by allowing us to press ahead with our plans and go electric despite the huge reduction in our fundraising opportunities thanks to the pandemic.Marcus Simeoni - Broking Manager, Citynet Insurance Brokers
Thank you Lloyd’s!”
SERV Surrey and London is a charitable organisation made up entirely of volunteers who provide a professional, efficient blood transfer service to the community at no cost to the NHS.
The SERV team mainly consists of motorbike riders and car drivers alongside controllers and fundraisers.
SERV transports blood products, urgent samples and medical supplies, along with donated breast milk to hospitals and milk banks across Surrey and London.
They also carry out a daily delivery of blood to Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex and operate throughout the night.
The Lloyd’s Market Charity Awards is a long-standing programme that donates to charities supported by individuals working across the Lloyd’s Corporation and market.
The awards are given in recognition of the incredible fundraising and voluntary work that goes on across Lloyd’s.
