Through our partnership we seek to:
- Raise awareness of the insurance sector as a career option for young people
- Develop the skills of young people to succeed in a career in the Lloyd’s market
- Attract and support young people through the recruitment process for emerging talent opportunities at Lloyd’s and in the market
- Provide high quality corporate volunteering and work placement opportunities to meet the needs of the Lloyd’s market
The Step Into Insurance series is designed to give students insight into the Insurance sector in preparing for their internship or graduate applications and the diverse careers available.
Last week we welcomed 68 students to the SEO insuring futures event to give an insight into insurance and the diverse careers in the market. The two-day event featured guest speakers such as Nathalie Richards, CEO of SEO London who provided a great welcome to SEO, Forida Islam, Global Community Engagement Manager at Lloyd's and Mark Lomas, Head of Culture at Lloyd's who spoke about Lloyd's, our history and the market.
We also got to hear from speakers from the market on both days, giving insight into various careers in insurance from Underwriting, Broking, Talent Acquisition, Tax, and Actuarial. Students were also given the opportunity to network with senior and early careers professionals in the market.
The agenda included, personal branding workshops, speed networking with 18 of our fantastic market volunteers, CEO fireside chats, and we got to hear from previous SEO students on their journeys. Students were also given the opportunity to tour the Lloyd's Building and the Underwriting floor.
The event ended through an interactive insurance quiz, where we saw students competing against each other about what they have learnt through their two-days at Lloyd's.
