Christmas at Lloyd’s: The season of giving

The Global Community Engagement team would like to extend a massive thanks to everyone who took part in Christmas activities and events this year

All sorts of exciting Christmas activity took place during December, including colleagues getting involved with decorating gingerbread houses with their friends and family, wearing their best festive outfit for Christmas jumper day, taking part in our festive raffle and guessing the correct number of sweets in a jar as well as the Lloyd’s children’s Christmas party.

Congratulations to our winners this Christmas and thank you all for taking part.

Our partnership launched in October 2019 and together we are building resilient communities that can withstand and recover from the devastating impact of natural disasters.

Supporting the East London Business Alliance (ELBA)

Lloyd’s also took part in the ELBA Toy Appeal again this year, setting up our own little Santa’s drop off box at the Lloyd’s Coffee House.

ELBA Toy Appeal

All of the toys collected were donated to support the Lloyd’s of London Foundation partner’s annual Christmas campaign. Toys were distributed to children who would have otherwise gone without this Christmas in East London and Islington.

The toy appeal featured on ITV news, which you can watch below.

Raised so far

Our fantastic colleagues from the Corporation and the market generously donated 76 toys to our internal Toy Appeal, and a further 58 toys through the Amazon gift page to the value of £652.15.

We are proud to say Lloyd’s made it in the top 10 leader board for donations.
