Lloyd’s LGBTQ+ Mentoring programme

Developing our LGBTQ+ talent

In 2022, Lloyd’s launched a pilot LGBTQ+ mentoring programme, designed to support LGBTQ+ talent in our industry. In 2023, based on feedback from the pilot group we were delighted to win both the Diversity & Inclusion Award at the Insurance Insider Honours and Best Talent or Recruitment Strategy at the Link: LGBTQ+ Insurance Network LGBTQ+ awards!

What is this programme?

As part of our drive to build inclusive work cultures, this mentoring programme seeks to support and develop our LGBTQ+ talent – helping individuals find the tools and advice they need to develop their careers within Lloyd’s and the wider market. We know from our wider mentoring platform that those in mentoring relationships feel more empowered, confident and happier in their careers – something that can be a challenge in the LGBTQ+ community and other minority groups.

Applications for the 2026 programme are now closed.

The application window has now closed for Cohort 4 of the LGBTQ+ mentoring programme. We expect the programme to reopen next year for a new intake and will communicate dates in January 2027.

In the meantime, if you would like to register your interest in being notified of our next programme, please email prideandallies@lloyds.com.

Who is it available for?

LGBTQ+ mentees

Due to the specific nature of the programme, those applying to be mentees should identify as LGBTQ+ and currently work within Lloyd’s Corporation or the Lloyd’s market – either in the UK or globally. Those interested will need to complete an application form and submit it before the deadline.

Mentees should be clear on what they hope to gain from the mentoring relationship so we can select and pair the best applicants.

Experienced mentors

We are also looking for experienced professionals who are able to mentor LGBTQ+ talent in our industry. These mentors could either be experienced LGBTQ+ professionals themselves or experienced allies who want to help support and develop LGBTQ+ talent. They should currently work within Lloyd’s Corporation or the Lloyd’s market – either in the UK or globally

This also creates a fantastic space where Exec sponsors of Pride networks can directly get involved to support the aims of your network – by stepping forward as mentors.
