Request for nominations: Developing future female leaders in the Lloyd’s insurance market

Thu 01 Oct 2020

Applications for the fifth cohort of Advance, Lloyd’s six-month development programme supporting future female leaders in the Lloyd’s market and Corporation is now open. You have until 30 October to submit.

Lloyd’s is committed to closing the gender pay gap by working with its stakeholders to increase the number of women taking up senior roles across the market and the Corporation. The outcome is an insurance industry that has a better gender balance across all levels.

Lloyd’s Advance programme aims to encourage and increase the number of senior female leaders in the insurance industry. It is a modular based development programme targeted at women identified by their managers as future female leaders.

Advance programme cohort 5

The Advance programme will bring together a community of 15 female leaders from across the market and the Lloyd’s Corporation starting in early February 2021. The cohort will feature 10-11 women from across the market and 4-5 women from the Corporation. This programme will be delivered virtually via Zoom or MS Teams.

Each woman will have the opportunity for targeted development, access to mentors and role models and on-going networking opportunities aimed at supporting their future careers within the market and Corporation.

Nominations from the Lloyd’s market

Anyone wishing to nominate a woman for the programme must be identified as a future leader. They are required to put forward a sponsor for their nominee and a mentor who will be matched to another woman on the programme to help with diversity of thought and experience.

Investing in the development of future female leaders

The Advance programme charges £3,000 per participant. There will be optional 1:1 feedback and coaching sessions which can be requested over and above what the programme provides.
