Dive In: What advice would you give to your younger self?

Lloyd’s are once again proud to support Dive In as it enters its eighth consecutive year. By uniting our industry to form a global movement, Dive In plays a significant role in focusing on how we continue to promote action for diversity in all its forms and develop healthy inclusive workplace cultures. 

As part of this year's Dive In festival theme Braver Cultures, we asked our colleagues what advice they would give to their younger self.

Dive In 2022

The multi-award winning Dive In festival for diversity and inclusion in insurance marks its eighth year of continuous growth in 2022 with over 100 events in 40 countries. This year’s theme is building braver cultures, focusing on both on and offline culture – we open up the conversation on how to build a workspace that truly allows people to feel psychologically safe, valued, respected and free to express themselves authentically.

Dive In recognises that the global risk industry is facing complex challenges such as climate change and cyber crime. In order to attract the very best talent to keep pace with the rate of change, insurance needs to focus on its reputation as a great sector to work in.

This means looking beyond traditional definitions of diversity to level the playing field for talent comprehensively including gender, gender identity, age, cultural background, sexual orientation, social mobility, faith, caring responsibilities, mental health and physical impairments.
