Elonka is a leading D.E.& I consultant, trainer, and coach, working globally with businesses to build sustainable, inclusive workplace cultures that allow the best talent to thrive, whatever their background. She is a former BBC journalist and programme maker She was the Director General’s (Lord Tony Hall) ‘Special Advisor Diversity and Inclusion’, and on leaving the corporation in 2016 she set up her consultancy Elonka Soros Ltd.
Elonka is currently working with many of the UK’s leading leading creative and cultural institutions, the major broadcasters, streamers and independent production companies to support the aspirations to build global audiences through authentic content that reflects and engages the diversity of audiences world-wide. She works in production with TV shows and feature films as well as with the teams making them.
Elonka works extensively across Europe and is a renowned Netherlands specialist, where her pragmatic and collaborative approach is recognised for strategic transformations in the media sector. Elonka also works with businesses in sectors as diverse as banking, retail, nuclear power and higher education in collaborations that bring new approaches to DE&I strategy and action.
Based in Herefordshire, Elonka supports charities and institutions that amplify the voices of people who are minoritised in rural contexts. She sits on the Board of Gloucestershire University which has sustainability and inclusion at its core.
