Applications are now open for Lloyd’s Patriotic Funds small grants programme

Charities are invited to apply for grants of up to £10,000 to support veterans and their families

18/01/2021

Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund - the Lloyd’s market’s military charity.

Founded in 1803, Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund is the oldest military charity of its kind. We are proud of our history and contribution to support the armed forces community on behalf of the Lloyd’s market. Today, Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund unites support from the market to aid the successful transition to civilian life for veterans and their families to ensure successful futures.

We currently have three-year partnerships with RFEA The Forces Employment Charity and Combat Stress, the veteran’s mental health charity. The partnerships focus on improving employment prospects for spouses and partners of veterans and conducting pioneering research into coping mechanisms for managing veterans’ mental health.

Charities supporting the military community can now apply for a small grant of up to £10,000, however, please note there is limited funding available. In previous years, Stoll, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, The Ripple Pond and FirstLight Trust and the Army Families Federation have been successful beneficiaries.

We know that the military charity sector has been hit hard by the impacts of COVID-19, as the need and demand for services and support increases and income streams decrease. The transition to digital services has been crucial for service charities, but often with limited resources. Therefore, our small grants programme this year is aimed at addressing the challenges faced by military charities against the background of a third lockdown in the UK.
