Vayuh is a deep-tech company consisting of engineers and scientists from the UC Berkeley Lab community. Using Physics, Data, and AI they build highly accurate weather forecasts and peril risk models for clients across industries.
Vayuh came in with a certain view on what climate change meant, and this view was heavily refined with the takeaway that in insurance, the primary approach must be 12–18 months. In the last few weeks, they learned more about building better catastrophe risk models linked to climate change models. They developed a severe convective storm model using physics and AI, and they scoped out how to do this for hurricanes.
