Lloyd’s announces appointment of Rebekah Clement as new Corporate Affairs Director

12 Jul 2023

Lloyd’s, the world’s leading marketplace for commercial, corporate and specialty risk solutions, today announces the appointment of Rebekah Clement in the new role of Corporate Affairs Director.

Rebekah will report to Lloyd’s Chief Executive Officer John Neal, effective immediately, and will bring together Lloyd’s capability and resource across government policy and affairs, external stakeholder engagement, corporate communications and media, and thought leadership with the establishment of a new Corporate Affairs function.

This new function will be focused on delivering enhanced stakeholder engagement and solutions that demonstrate Lloyd’s value proposition and purpose, including on matters of strategic importance such as culture, climate and cross-sector initiatives.

Rebekah comes to the role with over 20 years’ corporate affairs experience across government policy, brand reputation, media and communications. This has included holding a number of senior roles across the public and private sectors, including in New Zealand’s Department of Prime Minister Cabinet, and most recently establishing and leading Lloyd’s sustainability framework and initiatives.

Rebekah is a member of Lloyd’s ESG Committee of Council, and will continue to drive the priorities and focus of cross-sector initiatives, including the Sustainable Markets Initiative Insurance Task Force.

“Our new Corporate Affairs team will help Lloyd’s build stronger relationships with all our stakeholders so we can provide more effective leadership on the issues that matter, from climate transition to the digital revolution. Rebekah's experience and her team's deep expertise will help sharpen our voice as we continue driving our market's performance, digitalisation, purpose and culture goals.”
John Neal, CEO, Lloyd's

Having led Lloyd’s Marketing & Communications function since 2016, most recently as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and member of Lloyd’s Executive Committee, Jo Scott will be taking on a new role heading up the Lloyd’s of London Foundation.
