Accessing the building

Getting access to the building

You will need a pass to access the building. Find out how to apply for a Lloyd’s pass or register a visitor.

Entrances and lifts

There are a number of entrances to the Lloyd’s building.

If you do not have a pass, you should head to our Main Reception on Lower Ground. If you have a pass, you can use any of the available entrances to access the building.

Each tower with an entrance has lifts which serve different floors, as detailed below.

The map shows the Lloyd’s building and the surrounding roads with each of the entrances marked. Tower 5 entrance is located on Leadenhall Street, Tower 1 entrance is on the corner of Lime street and Leadenhall Street, with ramp access from Leadenhall Street. The main reception and tower 3 entrance are located on Lime Street.

Main reception: located on Lime Street (down the steps, or ramp at Tower 1)

Tower 1: located on Lime Street, lifts service Ground Floor to Gallery 12

Tower 3: located on Lime Street, lifts service the Upper Basement to Gallery 9

Tower 5: located on Leadenhall Street (through the gates of the old Lloyd’s building). Lifts service Upper Basement to Gallery 12

Accessible access to the building

With a pass

Accessible lifts can be found in Tower 1 and Tower 3. A ramp on Lime Street leads down to Lower Ground, where both towers can be accessed, along with Main Reception. A ramp on Leadenhall Street also leads up to Tower 1.

Without a pass

Accessible access to the building without a pass is available via the ramp on Lime Street at Tower 1, which leads to our Main Reception on Lower Ground, where you can collect your pass. A member of our team will show you the most appropriate lift for your visit.

If the entrance is unattended, please ring the bell and a member of our team will assist you.

Accessibility and inclusion guides

Our accessibility and inclusion guides have been created to ensure colleagues working in the buildings and those visiting are aware of the various accessible and inclusion arrangements we have in place at One Lime Street and Chatham. This includes individuals with hearing, visual and physical impairments.
