Lloyd's Market Charity Awards 2019

Thu 28 Nov 2019

This year Lloyd’s Charities Trust gave £4,000 each to over 30 charities on behalf of individuals in the market.

This is in recognition of their fundraising and voluntary work.  Awards are also made to charities that have given invaluable support to those whose lives have been affected by difficult circumstances. Lloyd’s Charities Trust are also grateful to Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund who, for the first time, have sponsored their own award for an individual who supports an armed forces charity.

In 2019, 64 applications were received, all of them were very impressive, making the final decisions very difficult.
The full list of winners can be found here.

The awards were presented by Lloyd’s CEO, John Neal, who said: “The inspiring work of individuals in the market is remarkable.  It is humbling to be involved in an event that highlights the support that our marketplace gives to their communities.”

Choong Kwan won an award on behalf of Momentum, a charity that has supported him and his family. “I would like to thank the Lloyd’s Charities Trust for their contribution to Momentum Children’s Charity. This will allow Momentum to continue their project to refurbish the children’s isolation wards in Kingston, Epsom and East Surrey Hospitals, so children undergoing cancer treatment can be more comfortable with child friendly wall art, colours and tones. Momentum really helped my daughter Emilie feel special and more comfortable during her hospital stays.”
