Rodney Smith, Southeast Regional Director, Atlanta
Rodney Smith joined Lloyd's as US Regional Director of our Southeast region in late 2010. In his role he is responsible for market development activities in a seven state region, focused on ensuring that Lloyd’s is understood and accessible to everyone with a current or potential future relationship with the Market.
Rodney is a graduate of the Risk Management and Insurance department of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business and has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.
He was originally trained as a property/casualty underwriter by Aetna, moving from there to Southeast Regional Director of Claims & Risk Control at GAB and Gates McDonald. Subsequent positions included a national sales and marketing role in alternative market products at AIG, southeast region VP for XL Capital and, most recently, vice president at ICAT (Lloyd's syndicate 4242).
During his six years with ICAT, Rodney was responsible for new product development, underwriting discipline and relationship management in their Eastern Seaboard region.
Lloyd's southeast region states include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
