Sean Murphy, President and Attorney in Fact, Lloyd’s Canada, and the Lloyd’s Canada team, hosted 30 Canadian MGA’s from across the country to provide an update on Lloyd’s global performance, Canadian market opportunities, 2015 initiatives to lineage and general coverholder matters.
The speakers included a team from PricewaterhouseCoopers who provided an overview of cyber resilience in the insurance industry. Guest speakers from Cassels Brock LLP offered insight into the Canadian legal landscape and a Claims TPA panel debated the future of technology for claims.
The event incorporated an interactive break out session during which participants spoke openly about the unique challenges of doing business using the Lloyd’s platform and the competitive challenges they face within the Canadian market. The topics discussed were generated using the results of a recent industry survey of the MGA’s in Canada.
Following the event, attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception hosted by Lloyd’s which provided a further opportunity to network with other MGAs and continue the dialogue started at earlier sessions.
This was a marvellous opportunity to engage our MGA community interactively and obtain feedback to improve their experience with Lloyd’s.
