In 2020, Lloyd’s convened its first ESG Advisory Group.  Comprised of market leaders and external experts, the group’s role is to provide advice and ensure accountability as Lloyd’s develops its ESG strategy following the publication of our first report in December 2020.

Bruce Carnegie-Brown

Bruce Carnegie-Brown

Chairman of Lloyd’s

Bruce Carnegie-Brown was appointed Chairman of Lloyd’s in June 2017. He is currently also Vice-Chairman of Banco Santander, Chairman of MCC and Chairman of Cuvva, a digital motor insurance business. He was a Non-Executive Director of JLT Group plc from 2016 to 2017, prior to which he was Non-Executive Chairman of Aon UK Ltd from 2012 to 2015, Senior Independent Director of Catlin Group Ltd from 2010 to 2014 and Chief Executive for Marsh UK and Europe from 2003 to 2006. He was Chairman of Moneysupermarket Group from 2014 to 2019 and Senior Independent Director of Close Brothers Group plc from 2006 to 2014 and is a past President of the Chartered Management Institute. He previously worked at JP Morgan for 18 years in a number of senior roles and was Managing Partner of 3i Group plc's Quoted Private Equity Division from 2007 to 2009.

John Sununu

John E. Sununu represented New Hampshire in the United States Senate from 2003-2009. Previously, he served in the US House of Representatives (1997-2003) and as Chief Financial Officer for privately held manufacturer Teletrol Systems. During his term in office, John was a member of the Senate Banking Committee, Senate Finance Committee, and Subcommittee on Science Technology and Innovation. Since 2011 he has worked for international law firm Akin Gump Strauss & Hauer, where he provides strategic advice to energy, technology, telecommunications and financial services clients. He is a Non-Executive Director for Boston Scientific, a publicly traded manufacturer of medical devices where he chairs the Nominations and Governance Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee. He also serves on the Boards of Sorenson Communications and Afiniti, both privately held technology firms.

Director and Head of Policy and Advocacy, Federated Hermes International

Ingrid is a Director and Head of Policy and Advocacy at Federated Hermes International. She is also the firm’s climate change coordinator. She has over 15 years of experience working on environmental policy and sustainable finance issues. Prior to joining Hermes Ingrid was a Director at sustainable development think tank E3G, leading a range of global initiatives on sustainable and inclusive finance. She has also held positions at the low carbon asset manager Climate Change Capital; been an energy and environment adviser in the UK Parliament; and adviser at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. She is currently a member of the UK Prudential Regulation Authority/Financial Conduct Authority Climate Financial Risk Forum.

Adrian began his career at Gen Re in 1993 writing short tail facultative reinsurance before moving to the treaty department in 1997, where he wrote both short and long tail business specialising in financial lines. He joined specialty lines at Beazley in 2001 where he performed a variety of roles including underwriting manager, building the long tail treaty account, managing the private enterprise teams and the large risk teams before taking responsibility for specialty lines in 2008. He took on the role of chief underwriting officer in January 2019. Adrian was appointed to the boards of Beazley Furlonge Limited in 2008 and Beazley plc in 2011.

Dominick was an elected member of the Council of Lloyd’s from 2017-2020.

Peta has over 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Previously a Marine Underwriter at Brit and MS Amlin, Peta has latterly been responsible for delivering on innovation initiatives in insurance. At Talbot, Peta has led on digital distribution situational analysis and design. She is co-developing a framework for new product development at Talbot and is responsible for horizon scanning of emerging risks and transforming these risks into product opportunities for the business.

Jane has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry in senior management, Operations, Re/Insurance Underwriting, Risk Management, Broking and Regulatory roles. Emma has almost 25 years' experience in the London market, starting her career at BMS Group in 1997 providing technical support across multiple classes. Emma subsequently joined Swiss Re, working in the UK Legal team before moving to Canopius Group in 2007 to take up the role of Deputy Head of Contracts. Emma held a number of management and leadership roles including Head of Underwriting Controls and Head of Compliance before joining Lancashire in January 2017 as Compliance Director and progressing to Chief Executive Officer in February 2019. She is ACII qualified, Vice President of the Insurance Institute of London, a member of the Lloyd's Market Association Board and a Fellow of the International Compliance Association.

David joined Lloyd’s in September 2019 as Chief Risk Officer and has responsibility for the Corporation’s risk management framework and for managing Lloyd’s relationships with its global regulators. Prior to Lloyd’s, David worked as a Director in the Financial Services Risk Practice at EY where he led a broad range of risk and regulatory engagements in the London Market and the wider insurance sector. He began his career working for the UK regulatory authorities with roles at the Financial Services Authority and HM Treasury.

Hannah Kate was appointed as Executive Officer to the CEO at Lloyd’s in September 2020. In this role, she leads on a range of strategic initiatives and provides valuable support to Lloyd’s CEO and Executive Committee. She joined the Corporation in 2018 as Chief of Staff to the Performance Management Director. Hannah spent the first eight years of her career at RSA Group, having initially started as an underwriting assistant on their global graduate programme. Following that, she held various underwriting, development and leadership positions before being promoted to Head of Strategy in RSA’s UK and International business. Her last role with the company was Account Director, leading RSA’s relationships with some of the world’s largest broking houses.

Hannah Kate was appointed as Executive Officer to the CEO at Lloyd’s in September 2020. In this role, she leads on a range of strategic initiatives and provides valuable support to Lloyd’s CEO and Executive Committee.
