The Lloyd's Broker Academy will take place on 17 – 21 October 2022.
This programme attracts high-achieving US and Canadian retail brokers with approximately three to five years’ experience of insurance: a selection of the best and brightest brokers in the industry. It focuses primarily on deepening participants’ understanding of their existing areas of specialisation.
The Academy is designed and delivered with the support and commitment of a working group made up of representatives from Beazley, Hiscox, Lloyd's, Miller, MS Amlin, AXA XL and RKH Specialty, as well as with participation from managing agents, brokers and technical specialists across the Lloyd's market.
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to see Lloyd’s through the eyes of the market’s underwriters and brokers, gaining a detailed understanding of how business is transacted at Lloyd’s and building new relationships. As with previous years, brokers will be split according to class of business: Management Liability; Professional Liability; Energy; Marine & Inland Transportation; and Commercial Property.
Underwriters and brokers from across the Lloyd’s market will deliver presentations to the brokers on The Role of the Lloyd’s Broker; London’s Role in Specialist (re)Insurance; Pricing Considerations; Innovation; The Perfect Submission; and The Lifecycle of a Claim. The group will also receive presentations and workshops on Emerging Risks and Innovation a cyber workshop from Axis Capital.
Brokers can also participate in networking events hosted by Beazley, Miller and enjoy a networking lunch hosted by Bruce Carnegie-Brown, Lloyd's Chairman and representatives from the Market in the unique surroundings of the Adam Room at Lloyd’s.
