Lloyd’s, the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance market for global risk, yesterday celebrated the achievements of 12 exceptional InsurTechs at the Lloyd’s Lab Accelerator Cohort 15 Demo Day. The participants showcased solutions co-developed with the Lloyd’s market during an intensive 10-week product development programme.
The event was opened by Dawn Miller, Lloyd’s Chief Commercial Officer, and CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, and hosted by Rosie Denée, Lloyd’s Head of Innovation and Commercial Education. The companies unveiled innovative approaches to some of the market’s most complex insurance challenges, from environmental risk management to AI-powered claims processing.
During their time at the iconic Lloyd’s Building, Cohort 15 focused on three strategic themes: Adapting to a Changing World, Traditional Lines for Today, and Data Intelligence and Process Transformation, delivering commercially viable solutions designed to strengthen market resilience. The outgoing Cohort now joins the Lab’s Alumni network which has supported over 160 companies in their penetration of the Lloyd’s market since 2018, with Lloyd’s Alumni coverholders having written $420 million in premium.
Lloyd's Lab, the top-rated insurance incubator by the Financial Times, does not take equity in participating companies and operates a stage-agnostic model, supporting both early-stage startups and established scale-ups.
At the event, Lloyd’s also announced that applications for Cohort 16 are officially open. This upcoming Cohort will feature a dedicated Irish theme for the first time, as part of a strategic partnership with Ireland’s Department of Finance, focusing on flood risk, cyber, AI and export finance. The additional two themes cover applicants seeking to provide operational efficiency and new products for the Lloyd’s market.
The companies selected will receive mentorship from Ireland-based market experts, while all Cohort 16 participants will benefit from direct access to Lloyd's market underwriters, capital providers, and distribution partners.
