With Ben Youngs, England's most-capped Men's Rugby Player (127 caps)
The Men's Health Matters Campaign launches with a live, interview-style conversation with Ben Youngs, one of England's most experienced international rugby players, held at the Lloyd's Building on Thu, 11th June. He is England's most capped men's rugby player (127 caps) and a world-class scrum-half who has performed at the highest level for over a decade.
The session focuses on Ben's personal story: resilience, leadership, performance under pressure, personal health challenges and the importance of early action, and his autobiography Beyond the Line: My Life in Rugby deepens that narrative with themes of loyalty, family, performance and humanity that resonate powerfully with a professional audience.
Expert-Led Conversation & Clinical Insight
Ben Youngs is interviewed by Nigel Sparshott, an experienced senior leader with strong operational and commercial expertise and lived experience of heart disease and type II diabetes, facilitating an authentic and empathetic conversation for a city audience. Ben and Nigel are also joined by Dr Philip Batty, a Consultant in Sports & Exercise Medicine at Cleveland Clinic London, providing light-touch clinical context on heart health, early warning signs and when to seek help.
About Ben Youngs
Ben Youngs is one of the most respected figures in modern rugby. Across an extraordinary England career, he combined longevity, composure and competitive edge with something less easy to measure: perspective, humanity and the ability to keep going through pressure, change and personal challenge.
