Andrew will present on:

  • Local crime trends and methodologies
  • Remaining vigilant while traveling so as not to become a victim of crime
  • Latest crime patterns and trends such as mobile phone thefts, theft of bags as well as distraction thefts
  • The high profile initiatives around reducing violence against women and girls (VAWAG)
  • The ‘Ask for Angela’ campaign, along with the development of dedicated ‘safe havens’ that local businesses have worked closely with City of London Police to make available for any vulnerable person during the night-time economy

About our key note speaker

Andrew is a City of London Police Officer through and through and began his career as a Community Police Officer. He applied for a firearms course and soon realised that he enjoyed being part of a close-knit team and performing the various duties bestowed on specialist firearms officers such as Royalty and Diplomatic Protection Duties, Armed Response and High Value Vehicle Escorts.

His career progressed and he also became a Firearms Instructor and having shown a particular interest in first aid trauma training he became the departments expert lead.

Having been deployed to a plethora of high threat incidents, Andy has opted for a ‘quieter life’ back where he began as a community police officer, a role he says he relishes and thoroughly enjoys.

Additional pop-up event

In tandem, the Police will also host a pop up stall in the Coffee House from 11:00-14:00 to promote these same messages and give those that couldn’t attend the session an opportunity to talk freely to a police officer.
