Lloyd's opens its doors to the market with immersive exhibition to mark 40 years of its iconic building
30 October 2026
'Looking Inside Out: Explore the Architecture of Risk' celebrates four decades at the heart of the London insurance market.
To mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic Lloyd's Building, Lloyd's will launch a new immersive exhibition, Looking Inside Out: Explore the Architecture of Risk, from 18-25 November 2026, inviting all employees of managing agencies and Lloyd’s broking houses to explore the building's unique history, cultural significance and enduring role at the centre of the global insurance industry.
The exhibition, curated in partnership with building architects RSHP (formerly Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners), celebrates four decades since the landmark structure became the home of the Lloyd's market. Visitors will journey through a series of immersive zones, where sound, film, photography and storytelling combine to bring the architecture of risk to life and provide a new perspective on one of London's most recognisable buildings.
Looking Inside Out will examine the past, present and future of the Lloyd's Building, highlighting the stories, milestones and innovations that have shaped the market over the last 40 years. It will explore how the industry continues to evolve in response to emerging risks and opportunities.
"This exhibition is an opportunity to celebrate not only an extraordinary building, but also the community that has made it the home of the Lloyd's market for the last four decades.Patrick Tiernan, Chief Executive
Those of us lucky enough to work here every day know that what makes it special isn't just the architecture, but the people, energy and ideas it brings together under one roof. As we celebrate 40 years of the building, we welcome our friends from the market to reminisce, reacquaint or experience our home for the first time.”
Looking Inside Out: Explore the Architecture of Risk celebrates the industry’s shared heritage and recognises the role the Lloyd's Building continues to play in connecting people, capital and expertise from around the world as well as inspiring the next generation of the Lloyd’s market.
The week-long exhibition sees the building open its doors to the whole market, including non-underwriting teams, who may have worked in insurance for many years, but do not usually have access to the Underwriting Room. This is an opportunity to experience the Lloyd’s building in a truly unique way. Entry is free and tickets can be booked here.
Notes to Editors:
