Hormones, Health and Harmony: Nutrition for Energy, Balance, and Wellbeing
About the event
Hormonal changes can have a significant impact on energy levels, mood, sleep, concentration and overall wellbeing. Yet, with the pressures of busy working lives, family commitments and everyday responsibilities, symptoms associated with menstruation, PMS, endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause can often go unrecognised or overlooked.
To mark Menopause Awareness Month, Thrive4Life invites members of the Lloyd's community to join Registered Nutritionist Lissa Leader for an informative and practical lunchtime talk exploring how nutrition and everyday lifestyle choices can support women's hormonal health, energy and long-term wellbeing.
From navigating hormonal fluctuations to maintaining healthy bones, muscles and digestive function, this session will offer accessible, science-led guidance to help women better understand their bodies and make informed decisions about their health.

Lissa will explore several important areas of nutrition and hormonal wellbeing, including:
- Supporting energy and vitality: How everyday nutritional choices can help maintain energy and wellbeing throughout hormonal changes.
- Gut health and hormonal balance: The relationship between digestive health, nutrition and healthy oestrogen metabolism.
- Protecting bone and muscle health: Why protein, calcium and vitamin D are particularly important for long-term strength and healthy ageing.
- Phytoestrogens and women's health: Understanding the role of naturally occurring plant compounds and how they may fit into a balanced diet.
- Everyday environmental exposures: Practical ways to consider and reduce exposure to potential hormone-disrupting substances.
- Making sustainable changes: Simple, realistic nutritional habits that can fit around demanding professional and personal schedules.
Rather than focusing on restrictive diets or complicated routines, the session will emphasise practical steps that attendees can incorporate into everyday life.
