Lloyd's Patriotic Fund

Founded in 1803 to assist the many casualties of the Napoleonic Wars, Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund is one of the oldest military charities of its kind and has been providing support to the armed forces community on behalf of the Lloyd’s market for over two hundred years.

Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund provides support to a number of organisations with a particular focus on those who are disabled or face poverty, illness and hardship. The Fund spends all the income it receives each year and yet the need continues. Our history
The nature of military engagements might have changed over the intervening years but the importance of providing practical support for those who have made great sacrifices on behalf of their country remains as important now as it was in 1803 when Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund was established by the Lloyd’s market.

The history of the first 200 years of Lloyd's Patriotic Fund is recorded in a beautifully illustrated book, Unbroken Service, which is available from the Lloyd's Shop.
