Lloyd’s announced a profit of £1.38bn for the six-month period ending 30 June 2013. The market continued to grow with gross written premium increasing 4.9% to £15.5bn.

The Lloyd’s building was designed by the architect Richard Rogers and took eight years to build. 33,510 cubic meters of concrete, 30,000 square metres of stainless steel cladding and 12,000 square metres of glass were used during the construction.
