Lloyd’s of London
Foundation

What we do

Established and funded by Lloyd’s, the Lloyd’s of London Foundation provides a platform for charitable activity and engagement across the Corporation and Lloyd's market. Our strategic charity partnerships focus on two areas – social mobility through education and disaster recovery and resilience.

The mission of the Lloyd’s of London Foundation is to deliver long-term, meaningful social impact that engages stakeholders and leverages Lloyd’s unique convening position.

Lloyd's University Bursary Programme

Lloyd’s of London Foundation runs a university bursary scheme to encourage students from London to apply and go to university outside of the capital. Studying at university outside of London widens your university choices, gives you the chance to become more independent, ambitious, experience new challenges that push you outside of your comfort zone and helps you develop, preparing yourself for successful future careers.

Successful students will be awarded a bursary for three years to assist with living expenses during their undergraduate degree.

Applications open for the Bursary programme in early Summer 2026.

Lloyd’s Market Charity Awards

The Lloyd’s Market Charity Awards is an annual event that celebrates colleagues across the Lloyd’s market for their outstanding charitable work and contributions to society. The Awards recognise individuals, teams and businesses who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to charitable causes. Each winner’s chosen charity receives a one‑off donation.

Meet our charity and community partners

East London Business Alliance

Through a range of voluntary-based programmes, businesses can bring their time, skills and expertise to support community organisations in east London who lack the funding and resources to carry out their important work.

The Passage

The Passage is a homeless charity supporting the poorest and most vulnerable adults of our society, who are currently experiencing street homelessness or are at risk of becoming street homeless. We support the Passage to deliver their Employment Service which provides a range of services such as employability workshops, digital training, career consultations, and mock interviews to support individuals to realise their aspirations and to transition away from homelessness permanently.

British Red Cross

When disaster strikes, the Red Cross will be there for people when the worst happens. People need relief and help to recover after a disaster. We provide urgent aid to support them, including first aid, food, clean water and shelter, cash to buy essentials like warm clothing and medicine, and emotional support. All funds raised through our partnership with Lloyd’s of London will go towards our Disaster Fund, helping us respond to disasters in the UK and around the world including armed conflict, climate emergencies like wildfires, flooding and drought, and natural disasters including earthquakes and tsunamis.

Our impact
