Lloyd's International Regulators' Programme 2016

In September, the Lloyd’s International Regulatory Affairs team hosted Lloyd’s 16th annual International Regulators’ Programme, attended by 22 senior regulators from 18 jurisdictions.

Thu 20 Oct 2016

The programme, supported by the UK Regulatory Authorities (the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority), the LMA, IUA and featuring presentations from the underwriting and broking community as well as subject matter experts from Lloyd’s, is designed to provide international regulators with an in-depth insight into the operations of Lloyd’s.  The event not only presents a unique opportunity for Lloyd’s to build and develop relationships with international regulators, but it provides a unique opportunity for regulators to meet and discuss international regulatory developments and emerging best practice with supervisory colleagues from around the world.

This year, for the first time, Lloyd’s welcomed delegates from Abu Dhabi and Morocco who joined their counterparts from Australia, The Bahamas, Canada, China, Dubai, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Labuan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea and the US.

As well as providing an intensive schedule of lectures and break-out sessions on Lloyd’s unique structure, financial strength and robust oversight of the market, the programme provides delegates with an opportunity to hear from a Lloyd’s underwriter, broker and coverholder, respectively on their perspectives as well as networking and social opportunities.

The delegates experienced the subscription market first hand by spending some time with underwriters in the Room, while also attending various events around Lloyd’s, the London Market and the City of London.

We are very grateful for the support of colleagues throughout the Lloyd’s Market in welcoming our regulators and look forward to your continued support for future programmes.
