Mr Fleming has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Rockefeller Capital Management and has therefore taken the decision to relinquish his position on the Council.
Mr Fleming was appointed to the Council in March replacing Henrique Meirelles, who stepped down from the Council in 2016. He will leave immediately and the process to find a replacement is underway.

The Council is responsible for ensuring that the Society of Lloyd’s acts in accordance with Lloyd’s Acts 1871 to 1982 and complies with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.
Nominated members of the Council are appointed by a special resolution of the Council on the recommendation of the Nominations & Governance Committee. The working and external members of the Council are elected by Lloyd's members. The Chairman and Deputy Chairmen are elected annually by the Council from among its members. The Franchise Board is responsible for maintaining a commercial environment at Lloyd’s in which the long term return to all capital providers is maximised. It determines the major risks to the Lloyd’s market and how to mitigate those risks.
The Franchise Board manages all of the affairs of the Corporation and supervises, regulates and directs the business of insurance at Lloyd’s and protect the Lloyd’s franchise, name, reputation and licenses.
