Pat joined Lloyd’s in 2006 and serves as the US Central Regional Director. In that role he provides educational and market development outreach to stakeholders throughout the 14 state Region. Pat is also responsible for overseeing Lloyd's three US licenses - in Illinois, Kentucky, and the US Virgin Islands. He serves as President of Lloyd’s Illinois, Inc. and Lloyd’s Kentucky, Inc., the corporate attorneys-in-fact for the three licensed platforms. 

Pat has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance and securities industry, in both the regulatory and commercial environments. He spent eight years in a consulting capacity as Chief Financial Analyst at the Kentucky Department of Insurance. While there, he was instrumental in establishing Kentucky’s captive insurance program, and also represented Kentucky on various task forces and working groups of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Prior to that, Pat served as Vice President of Trading and Operations for Commonwealth Investment Group, a Louisville, Kentucky-based institutional broker/dealer. 

Pat has a double major in Finance and Economics from the University of Kentucky. He previously held the designation of Certified Financial Examiner, and also the Series 7 and 63 securities licenses. He is a member of the Insurance Advisory Board of Executives of the Illinois State University Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services, a member of the Advisory Board of Eastern Kentucky University’s School of Risk Management, and the Midwest Chapter Board of Directors of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation.

  • Lloyd’s is an admitted insurer in Illinois. Lloyd’s may also write insurance on a surplus lines basis in Illinois, in accordance with regulatory requirements. The Chicago office offers state of the art workstation, conference, and meeting space for Lloyd’s market participants visiting the area.

         

     Lloyd’s Illinois is responsible for:

    • Regulatory compliance.
    • Recording, countersigning and reporting all Lloyd’s business representing Illinois risks.
    • Assisting Lloyd’s underwriters in determining if business should be written on an admitted or surplus lines basis.
    • Filing admitted policy wordings with the Illinois Department of Insurance.
    • Making all surplus lines filings for Lloyd’s business with the Surplus Line Association of Illinois.
    • Facilitating the Association of Lloyd’s Brokers – a unique organisation of brokers, Lloyd’s coverholders and colleagues in the Chicago area.
    • Market development.
