Following the success of the Dive In festival in London in 2015 and 10 countries in 2016, this year reaches new heights in 32 locations across 17 countries. Events will return to locations such as London, New York City, Zurich, and Bermuda, as well as new cities including Beijing, Perth, Melbourne, Sao Paolo, and Mumbai, from 26 to 28 September 2017.

More on Lloyd's commitment to diversity and inclusion

The international diversity and inclusion festival has continued to garner support with the highest number of insurance sector sponsors since its inception. CNA Hardy, RPC and Lloyd’s join at gold level alongside Aon, Chubb, Marsh, Miller, Willis Towers Watson and XL Catlin.

This year’s silver sponsors have also been confirmed as: AIG, Allianz, Arthur J. Gallagher, Beazley, DAC Beachcroft, Direct Line Group, Ed, Hiscox, Jackson, JLT, M&G Investments, Markel, Novae, Prudential, RenaissanceRe, THB and Travelers, in addition to specialist recruitment festival partner Oliver James Associates.

Dive In London will host guest speakers such as: Jonny Benjamin and Neil Laybourne speaking about mental health awareness; Chris Moon, Kellie Maloney and Katie Piper on overcoming adversity, and Keegan Hirst and Graeme Le Saux on diversity on sport.

The theme for this year’s festival reinforces the business case for diversity and inclusion. The Diversity Dividend is clear: people are drawn to and thrive in inclusive workplaces. Inclusion creates better productivity and team performance, lays the groundwork for inspiring innovation, and reflects the values of our global customer base.

Put simply, diverse and inclusive workplaces are becoming a business fundamental, not a discretionary addition.

Following last year’s event which attracted more than 5,000 attendees, survey data revealed that 98% felt that diversity and inclusion is good for business and 74% said that the festival has given them new ideas for practical engagement.

Dominic Christian, Chair of Inclusion@Lloyd’s and CEO of AON UK said: ‘The Dive In festival is a catalyst for the global insurance industry that inspires collaboration around the key issues of talent, productivity and innovation. Bold, brave initiatives like this are needed to drive the agenda for inclusive working cultures and customer centricity to keep the insurance sector focused on staying globally competitive and relevant.’

Jason Groves, Chair of the Dive In Communications Committee and Global Director of Media Relations at Marsh, added: ‘The scale of growth of the Dive In Festival in just three years not only shows how important this topic is for our industry, but how willing and energetic our community is for making a positive change. I’m hugely excited to welcome some of this year’s wide range of guest speakers and urge as many sector-wide colleagues as possible to spare some time out of their day to attend the sessions.’

About Dive In
The award-winning festival is an initiative of Inclusion@Lloyd’s, the group that provides strategy, governance and practical support across the Lloyd’s market. The theme will ensure the focus stays on the bottom line business benefits to an organisation of a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture, driving productivity and innovation across the market. The Inclusion@Lloyd’s committee has this year established a new Dive In Steering Committee with the specific remit of shaping and delivering the Dive In festival, comprising representatives from brokers, underwriters and professional bodies including the ABI, BIBA, and CII.
