Congratulations to all the 2017 winners who received their awards at a ceremony in the Adam Room at Lloyd's in December 2017.
Ben Pritchard, one of this year's winners, explained the difference that the Lloyd's Market Charity Awards can make. "On the 10 September 2016 my life was turned upside down following a cycling accident. Aspire played a pivotal role throughout my rehabilitation, allowing me to return back to the London market in such a short space of time. I am very grateful that Lloyd’s Charities Trust have recognised the incredible work undertaken by Aspire, and the money provided will aid others, as it did me, at a time of personal adversity."
Donations of £2,000 are given to charities supported by individuals working in the market in recognition of their fundraising and voluntary work. Awards are also made to charities that have given invaluable support to those in the market whose lives have been affected by difficult circumstances.
Since the initiative was launched in 2007, over £650,000 has been donated to 300 charities.
To apply, you must be a permanent employee working in the Lloyd’s market (employed by managing or members’ agents, brokers, coverholders, the Corporation, LMA or LIIBA) on the date the application is made and when the award is announced.
Applicants need to demonstrate direct engagement with their nominated charity during the past 12 months, for example, as a volunteer, fundraiser or beneficiary of services provided.
The Lloyd's Market Charity Awards will re-open in 2018, please check back here for more information.
