Members' agent

Membership of Lloyd’s requires bespoke knowledge and access to a broad range of information and advice.

Because of this, Lloyd’s Byelaws require that every member appoints and retains a members’ agent (unless the Council of Lloyd's agrees to waive this requirement) and that members' agent will advise prospective and existing members on, inter alia:

  • The implications of being a Lloyd’s member
  • Lloyd’s member application process (separate FCA approval is not currently required)
  • Syndicate selection / Underwriting portfolio
  • Solvency
  • Taxation

Active members' agents

There are currently three active members’ agents. These firms are approved by the Financial Conduct Authority and by Lloyd’s specifically to advise on Lloyd’s syndicate participation:

Alpha Insurance Analysts Ltd (467352)
107 Fenchurch Street

Argenta Private Capital Ltd (204845)
Fountain House
130 Fenchurch Street
United Kingdom

Hampden Agencies Ltd (204946)
85 Gracechurch Street

Each members’ agent applies their own charging structure for the services they provide.
