• Atlas

   

  Atlas is a secure web-based system that will act as an electronic filing and online application system for coverholders.

  When a broker or managing agent signs up to use the Atlas website, they must nominate a devolved administrator (DA).

   We recommend that a company has two devolved administrators. It is also recommended that the DA is someone who deals with coverholders rather than a member of the company's IT Department.

  The devolved administrator's main responsibilities are:

  • To create and delete users for the Atlas website for their company
  • To ensure persons are appropriate to be added as Users
  • To help their users with any problems they face on the website with registration.

• Crystal

  Crystal is Lloyd's online business tool that provides Lloyd's market participants with quick and easy access to international regulatory and taxation requirements.

  In addition to Crystal, Lloyd's (in conjunction with the Market) has developed Crystal Assist. Crystal Assist is an online tutorial followed by a short knowledge test that in total takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

  Crystal Assist provides an introduction to Lloyd's licences and the regulatory and fiscal requirements that need to be considered when trading worldwide.

  Breaching international regulations and fiscal requirements can potentially result in fines or other consequences for those involved in the placement and ultimately impact the Lloyd's brand and reputation. Lloyd's Market participants need to be registered to use Crystal in order to access Crystal Assist.

• Risk Locator

  Risk locations determine the territories whose laws, regulations and tax rules apply to an insurance contract. The Risk Locator tool is only designed to identify possible regulatory and tax territories of risk for individual classes of business.

• Binding Authority Registration (BAR)

   

  Binding authority agreements are contracts which set out the scope of delegated authority and so allow coverholders to enter into contracts of insurance and to issue insurance documents on behalf of Lloyd's managing agents.

• Lineage

  Lineage (Lloyd's Information Exchange) is a simple cost effective way of delivering the services provided by Lloyd's Canada

  Lineage consists of the following service lines:

  • Clearing – Scheme Canada settlement services providing for the monthly/daily settlement of premiums, paid claims, claim advances and other expenses relating to Canadian dollar binding authority business. 
  • Compliance – collation of regulatory data and reporting on behalf of Lloyd’s underwriters. 
  • Analysis – provision of data and statistical information to customers. 
  • Business Controls and Management – a mechanism for the conduct of certain business functions, such as above authority claims administration. 
  • Business Service Support Centre (Contact Centre) – providing assistance to customers with regard to such issues as regulatory requirements and business processes.

• Restricted coverholders

   

  The restricted coverholders system allows managing agents to record their relationships with UK firms who enter into contracts of insurance on behalf of Lloyd's underwriters, but who are not required to be approved as coverholders.

  All managing agents are required to record their relationships with restricted coverholders. All of the relationships that are created in the system will appear on the register of coverholders.

• Quality Assurance Tools

  The Quality Assurance (QA) Tools provide experienced market specialists with periodic updates and prompts on contract quality requirements for open market and binding authority contracts.

• DOPRINT

  DOPRINT enables Lloyd's coverholders to print insurance documentation in Italy. DOPRINT is a system which allows the coverholder to import the relevant policyholder details, premium data and to attach pdf files with risk information and policy wordings which form the basis of the insurance certificate. In addition it provides automated checks of each declaration against certain key elements of the coverholder’s Binding Authority Agreement.
  
  DOPRINT can be accessed either through a web-interface or from the coverholders own system using the DOPRINT web service.
  
  Access to DOPRINT is limited to those who have signed a DOPRINT user agreement:
  
  

  • Coverholders – access and import data.
  • Lloyd’s has access to the application (Lloyd’s do not sign the agreement) and to maintain the system.

  DOPRINT is primarily for use by coverholders, to enable them to produce insurance documents that are electronically signed and issued, and compliant with Italian law, when doing Italian business. It is made up of two functions:

  • Policy issuance
  • Endorsement facility

• MOCHA

  MOCHA is a web-based system designed by Lloyd's to assist Lloyd's coverholders in the issuance of Lloyd's insurance documentation in Italy.

  MOCHA is a system which allows the coverholder to capture policyholder details, risk and premium data which forms the basis of the insurance certificate. In addition compliance with certain key elements of the binding authority is verified before the insurance documents are electronically signed.

  MOCHA is primarily for use by coverholders, to enable them to produce insurance documents that are electronically signed and issued, and compliant with certain key elements of their binding authority, when doing Italian business. It is made up of three functions:

  • Policy issuance
  • Quote management
  • Endorsement facility
  • The binding authority record is activated by Lloyd’s Italy before any risks can be added to MOCHA.

  Access to MOCHA is limited to those who have been granted access via Lloyd’s Italy:

  • Coverholders – access and input data.
  • Lloyd’s brokers – access applications, receive reports and deal with special acceptance requests.
  • Managing agents – access the applications, receive reports and accept or decline special acceptance requests where they are the lead managing agent.
  • Lloyd’s – access the applications.
