Lloyd’s underwriters are licensed to write insurance in or from the UK. A special resolution of the Council of Lloyd’s dated 2 February 2000 limits the carrying on of life insurance to the underwriting of non-investment term life business up to a maximum term of twenty-five years. In practice Lloyd's internal rules place restrictions on some classes such as financial guarantee insurance.
Lloyd's underwriters are permitted to write reinsurance in or from the UK.The UK market is currently ranked as the 2nd largest source of revenue for Lloyd’s globally and the largest in European terms.
UK Country Manager
Keith Stern originally practiced as an accountant prior to joining Lloyd's over twenty years ago. Following ten years in Australia as Lloyd's Country Manager in Sydney, he returned to the UK in July 2010 to take up a new position as Lloyd's Regional Manager for the UK and Ireland.
A key role of the UK Country Manager is to proactively promote the Lloyd’s brand to the regional and London market and otherwise and support Lloyd’s managing agents in developing their business development objectives in UK.
We organise high profile networking events and engage in various promotional/sponsorship activities in order to facilitate the development of new and existing relationships amongst our market stakeholders.
