From Dragons to DVDs….What is happening across the community?

An amazing impact!

Every year 1,500 Lloyd’s Community Programme volunteers support almost 3,000 local people including many young people through reading partners, number partners and mentoring programmes. Your support has helped local students make their way up the national league table for academic results in recent years.

Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership's Helen Sanson tells us, "Last year, for the first time, Tower Hamlets pupils scored above the national average for students gaining 5 A* to C GCSE passes including Maths and English with 61.5% of pupils in Tower Hamlets achieving this benchmark compared to 59% nationally. This is testament to the schools and students’ hard work but also to the commitment and energy of volunteers from Lloyd’s who make a huge difference in raising confidence, aspirations and providing that all important motivation to succeed".

This is an amazing result - thank you!

You made it happen!

The impact of Lloyd’s Community Programme’s twenty year support in Tower Hamlets was just one of the reasons the programme was shortlisted for two prestigious Dragon Awards this month. Lloyd’s Community Programme was recognised, alongside other highly regarded City community involvement programmes, at a reception at Mansion House.

Thank you to our brilliant volunteers and coordinators for supporting Tower Hamlets! This success wouldn’t be possible without you.
