Lloyd's Tercentenary Research Foundation
Since its establishment in 1988, Lloyd's Tercentenary Research Foundation has funded over 100 years of academic research in the fields of engineering, science, medicine, business and the environment through the provision of post-doctoral fellowships and business scholarships.
Today, through its partnership with the Insurance Intellectual Capital Initiative and UK Research Councils, Lloyd's Tercentenary Research Foundation continues its work of funding top flight academic research by supporting new programmes of research on insurance related issues.
When available, details of these projects will be posted on this page and will be circulated via the normal routes by the relevant Research Councils.
US Scholarships
In collaboration with the Fulbright Commission, Lloyd's Tercentenary Research Foundation will be funding scholarships for UK academics or professionals to undertake research in the US on a subject related to insurance. Application is via the Fulbright Commission website, where full details can be found.
Lloyd's Fellow wins Women in Science Award
Dr Heather Whitney, who was awarded a two-year Lloyd's Tercentenary Research Foundation fellowship in 2008, is carrying on the good work! At the end of 2011 Dr Whitney won a L'Oreal-UNESCO 'For Women in Science' fellowship to continue her research on plant behaviour, as she explains in this short video.
