LLMIT

LLMIT (the Lloyd's and London Market Introductory Test) is a comprehensive learning programme, supported by a multiple choice examination for those who are new to the London Insurance Market, or for those who want to gain a wider understanding of how this market operates. LLMIT develops and tests awareness and understanding of how business is traded in the London Insurance Market and the roles and responsibilities of those involved. It provides an essential grounding in the working practices and processes at Lloyd’s.

LLMIT has been developed by the Lloyd’s LLMIT Education Committee (drawn from market representatives, subject matter experts and Corporation of Lloyd’s employees) as a way to enhance standards of knowledge, performance and customer care.

LLMIT is a very attractive qualification for professionally qualified individuals, such as accountants, consultants, lawyers, HR and IT professionals etc., who feel they would benefit from a better understanding of the London Market. Additionally, from an international perspective, the global network of over 5,000 test centres makes LLMIT a viable and relevant qualification for people working all round the world, and who also have an interest in the London Market – for example coverholders and brokers.

LLMIT is accredited as a standalone qualification by OFQUAL at BTEC level 3. The examination consists of 75 multiple choice questions over 90 minutes.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL STUDENTS

Syllabus Review: Please note that the LLMIT syllabus changed on 12 March 2012 to include:
  • Updates based on recent legislative changes
  • Inclusion of learning material relating to Solvency II
  • New and significantly revised sections on Claims Management and Delegated Underwriting

A new examination incorporating questions based on these changes is currently going through accreditation approval and is expected to be available at the beginning of May.

New LLMIT packs purchased after the syllabus change date will include learning material incorporating this syllabus change. Students who purchase packs prior to the syllabus change date will still be able to complete the existing examination, based on the current syllabus, until at least the 31st December 2012.
