
Supporting the coverholder network
Representatives from over 70 European coverholders from 14 different countries were welcomed to Lloyd's on 3 November for Lloyd's second European Coverholder Event.
The one day programme kicked off with an overview of Lloyd's business in Europe. Delegates were then split into two groups for workshop sessions on 'Lloyd's Branding, Marketing & Education' and 'Supporting Technology'.
There was opportunity for delegates to learn more about the new coverholder brand guidelines and newly developed Coverholder Toolkit – a clear and simple guide to doing business with Lloyd's – and provide feedback to Lloyd's on how we can support their business. On the technology side, live online reporting possibilities were showcased by Miller.
Coverholders – An important distribution channel for Lloyd’s
To round off the morning, Richard Ward presented Lloyd's key messages and emphasised the importance of coverholders to Lloyd’s and the competitive advantage that they give the Lloyd’s market in delivering Lloyd’s expertise and specialist underwriting capabilities to local markets. After a networking lunch, there was an update on the changing European regulatory environment.
A lively panel discussion with experienced Lloyd's, managing agent and broker panellists fielding wide ranging questions from the floor, was followed by a dinner hosted by Lloyd’s Director of International Markets, Jose Ribeiro, to round off the day.
