Cookies
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers downloaded onto your computer so that it can recognise your computer at a later time. Cookies are commonly used on the Internet and do not harm your system.

When you enter www.lloyds.com, your computer will automatically be issued with a cookie. Most websites do this to allow the website owners to carry out useful activities such as finding out whether a particular computer has visited the site before. This is done on a repeat visit by checking to see, and finding, the cookie left on the last visit.

Lloyd’s gathers non-personal data regarding visitors to the Lloyd’s website through the use of cookies. The cookies provide non-personal statistical information about visits to pages on the site, the duration of individual page view, paths taken by visitors through the site and other general information. This information is used only for the administration of the Website, in the compilation of statistics to assess the use of the Website and to help us improve our services to our users.

Users have the opportunity to set their computers to accept all cookies, to notify them when a cookie was issued, or not to receive cookies at any time. The last option, however, means that certain personalised services cannot be provided to the user (see 3: Cookies and Presentation Toolkit below).

If you want to configure your browser not to accept cookies, please refer to your browser’s ‘help’ facility. Alternatively, further information on deleting and controlling cookies is available from www.allaboutcookies.org.

These cookies only contain a unique ID so that we can identify your computer; the cookies will not contain any personal data. Please note: cookies for the Toolkit cannot be switched off so by registering for the Toolkit you consent to us issuing a cookie to your computer. If you no longer wish to have the cookie on your computer you must deregister from the Toolkit.
