Recognition for Lloyd's at London Market Awards

1 July 2009

Lloyd’s has achieved excellent results at the Reactions Magazine’s London Market Awards, winning four awards at the event that highlights top-class performance and innovation within the global insurance industry.

The black tie event, held yesterday at the Grange City Hotel, saw Kent Chaplin win the Claims Initiative of the Year Award and Rolf Tolle win the Industry Achievement Award, which Kent collected on his behalf.

Initiative and leadership

Sue Langley collected the Initiative of the Year award for the Electronic Claims File project and said:

"We are very pleased to receive this award which is recognition of all of the effort put in by the market to make it happen."

Sean McGovern received the Future Industry Leader award and said:

"I am very pleased to receive the award. I am fortunate to have been at Lloyd's during a very dynamic period and I have no doubt that working in the insurance sector will continue to be stimulating and enjoyable"

Recogition of achievements

The awards are a recognition of the achievements of companies and individuals; and help to raise standards across the industry.

A survey of risk managers, insurers, reinsurers and brokers was conducted to find out who they believe are the best in the business.

The nominees were then asked to complete an entry form, and a panel of judges voted on the winners.
