Lloyd's Rat Race Results

The Rat Race
Teams, Lloyd's Young Guns and FARM-Africa

Nine teams from the Lloyd’s market competed in the Rat Race Urban Adventure last weekend and raised £16,759* for FARM-Africa. The prize for the best fundraisers went to the Aspen team who raised nearly £4,000.

The teams battled it out over a gruelling course that saw them start their Sunday morning with a 5 mile run around the City before cycling 40 miles around Epping Forest. Challenges along the way enabled teams to pick up extra points before they headed back to London to face a six-foot storey abseil and kayaking along Mile End canal.

Teams included Lloyd’s, Aon, Aspen, Chaucer, Chesterfield, two teams from Cooper Gay, FARM-Africa and Newline. Congratulations go to Cooper Gay team 1, who completed the course in 6 hours and 25 minutes and came first out of the Lloyd’s teams.

James Poole from the winning Cooper Gay Team said: “We are very pleased with a great team effort and to win the Lloyd's competition whilst raising a decent total for Lloyd's nominated charity for the event, FARM-Africa. Thanks to our sponsors, to Lloyd's and to Cooper Gay & Co. for their support.”

The money raised will help FARM-Africa continue their work in providing long term solutions to poverty in rural communities in eastern Africa.

Congratulations to all the teams who participated.
